| The WomenSpeak Readers Theatre A multi-media performance that featured historical and contemporary women’s voices. It was organized and directed by Susan Sandberg, Bloomington City Councilwoman At Large. WomenSpeak performed on several occasions in 2005 and 2006. I recited the inspiring words of Rose Winslow, a Polish immigrant (born Ruza Wenclawska) and a Suffragette. Ruza participated in the hunger strike that led to the passage of the 19th Amendment, granting American women the right to vote.
